The Kashmir Files has been raking in the earnings at the box office and is still going strong almost a week after its release. The film is fast on its way to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark as well and has already earned Rs. 80 crore at the box office. It seems that the film is also spelling trouble for some other major releases in the country as well, in particular, Akshay Kumar’s Bachchhan Paandey which is slated to be released on March 18.

The Kashmir Files had initially been released in about 630 screens in the country. The number of screens increased after the film started to run successfully. According to a report in BollywoodLife.com, the makers of Bachchhan Paandey are worried the number of screens for their film might fall short. The reason for this is reportedly because many single screen theatre owners are unwilling to remove The Kashmir Files to make way for Bachchhan Paandey. The latter reportedly faced a loss of 400-500 screens due to it.

The upcoming film, directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, also stars Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arshad Warsi in pivotal roles.

Celebrities such as Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam and Suniel Shetty had appreciated the film along with Kangana Ranaut. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too had said good things about the film.
