The Kashmir Files releases on OTT: Anupam Kher calls out ‘heartless people’ who tag Vivek Agnihotri’s film as a ‘lie’

Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files has finally released on OTT. The movie is now available to watch on Zee5. As the film did release, lead actor Anupam Kher took to Instagram and called out the ‘heartless people’ who have tagged his film as a lie.

The Kashmir Files, which was appreciated in India for a long time, is now receiving flak for being banned in Singapore. Some people have stated that the movie promotes a propaganda and is a lie. Anupam Kher, who won hearts with his performance in this movie, has taken to Instagram to share a video regarding the same.

In the video, he spoke about The Kashmir Files for the first time and shared his experience – about how over five lakh Kashmiri Hindus went through genocide and had to become refugees when they once had their own home. The actor also spoke about Kashmiri Hindus being spread across the world because they did not have a place to call home after the exodus.

For the uninitiated, Anupam himself is a Kashmiri Hindu and that had intrigued the audiences – about how he would bring forth the story and pain of Kashmiri Hindus. When The Kashmir Files released, many took to Twitter to praise the actor for his powerful performance in the movie. Apart from that, videos from various screenings – where Kashmiri Hindus broke down while watching the film – also went viral on the internet.

The Kashmir Files is directed by Vivek Agnihtori and produced by him along with his wife Pallavi Joshi. Pallavi has also acted in the movie in a pivotal role.

Also featuring Darshan Kumaar, Mithun Chakraborty and Puneet Issar among others, The Kashmir Files is now available for streaming on Zee5. The movie released on May 13.
