The Kashmir Files has crossed Rs. 100 crore mark at the Box Office. The movie has in fact had a fabulous run on second Friday and is now only second to the massive Baahubali. Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files actually saw an extraordinary second Friday, especially given that it was also the day when Akshay Kumar’s Bachchhan Paandey released and performed well in the morning shows itself.
Vivek’s film has earned Rs. 19-20 crore on the second Friday, giving tough competition to Bachchhan Paandey. The movie is only the second to make so much on the second Friday after Baahubali: The Conclusion which minted Rs. 20 crore even on its second Friday.
The Kashmir Files has managed to cross Rs. 100 crore mark after seven days of its release. On the eight day, it minted approximately Rs. 114.75 crores. The film had touched Rs. 95.5 crore in the first week of its release.
It is also a huge deal for The Kashmir Files to be able to earn almost Rs. 20 crore on its second Friday since the day marked a huge Hindu festival – Holi. The movie has also been garnering a lot of audiences from the Hindu speaking belt, who were busy celebrating Holi in the morning. Despite that, The Kashmir Files earned as much as Rs. 20 crore on its second Friday, while clashing with an Akshay Kumar starring movie.
Here's the day-wise collection of The Kashmir Files, according to Box Office India:
Day 1 (Friday) – Rs. 3.25 crores
Day 2 (Saturday) – Rs. 8.25 crores
Day 3 (Sunday) – Rs. 15 crores
Day 4 (Monday) – Rs. 15 crores
Day 5 (Tuesday) – Rs. 17.75 crores
Day 6 (Wednesday) – Rs. 18.25 crores
Day 7 (Thursday) – Rs. 18 crores
Day 8 (second Friday) – Rs. 19.25 crores
If the graph is to be taken into consideration, The Kashmir Files collection has grown over the first weekend almost five times. The movie could very well still be capable of doing that, since it is the Holi weekend. It is expected to cross Rs. 200 crore mark this weekend itself. However, it remains to be seen whether Bachchhan Paandey does slow down Vivek’s film or vice-versa.
