Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files has finally crossed Rs. 200 crore mark. The movie has minted Rs. 109.50 crores in week two itself. Thus, The Kashmir Files is the third highest-grossing films in the second week.
The film has minted more than first week too. It earned Rs. 96.14 crores in week one. The Kashmir Files has collected Rs. 7.25 crores on second Thursday, according to Box Office India.
After working brilliantly over the second weekend, The Kashmir Files has been witnessing a constant drop. After dropping more than 50% on Monday, the movie’s collections constantly dropped from Rs. 12.50 crores to Rs. 10.25 crores, 8.25 crores and eventually, Rs. 7.25 crores.
The Kashmir Files has become one of the top three films of all times when looking at cost against theatrical returns. Jai Santoshi Maa (1975) and Hum Aapke Hain Koun remain the top two even today.
After its weekend collections, The Kashmir Files was expected to cross Rs. 300 crore mark at the Box Office. However, that appears to be extremely tough given its current Box Office situation.
Nonetheless, The Kashmir Files can earn Rs. 275 crores before going out of theatres. The movie is still working well in certain belts, especially in Delhi-NCR and East Punjab. However, a lot depends on the Box Office numbers over the third weekend. The movie faces its biggest challenge in RRR’s release.
RRR has been performing well in many parts of India, especially in Maharashtra and Gujarat. It is, however, performing poorly in the belts where The Kashmir Files is working well. This could be a turning point for Vivek’s movie. If luck has it, the movie will easily cross Rs. 250 crores and earn Rs. 275 crores before going out of theatres.
