Ever since its release on March 11, The Kashmir Files has been putting up a strong performance at the box office. The film recently entered the Rs 200 crore club as well. Darshan Kumar, who starred in the film along with Anupam Kher, opened up about the film’s commercial success and the responses it garnered from audiences.

While interacting with NewsHelpline at a screening of The Kashmir Files, the actor said that he felt ‘blessed’ learning that his film crossed Rs 200 crore mark. He spoke about how he had never even dreamed of getting the kind of ‘love’ the film received and was constantly pinching himself to remind himself that it was indeed the reality. Darshan also mentioned how, most A list filmmakers who wanted to cast him in films had been looking for box office numbers as well, something which he could boast of now.

The actor also said that it was a dream come true to have his performance in the film receive so much appreciation from audiences. “I was recently told that my character Krishna Pandit is like the Krishna of modern times and he is listening to Kauravs and Pandavas and putting the truth in climax and the audience is Arjun,” said.

Darshan also seems to have no qualms about RRR putting a dent into his film’s box office collections. Wishing the SS Rajamouli directorial well, the actor said he hoped RRR would become a ‘massive’ hit and would bring more people into theatres. The people who watched The Kashmir Files, would now watch RRR, he added.

RRR is recording a very impressive streak at the box office indeed. The film recently beat Baahubali: The Conclusion to become the film with the highest Box Office collections on its opening day. This is the highest record for any Indian film.
