The first trailer for ZEE5's next original series, The Kashmir Files Unreported, premiered today in the heart of Srinagar, Kashmir. After the massive success of The Kashmir Files, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri promises that the sequel will be even more enlightening and terrifying. Vivek Agnihotri and Pallavi Joshi's IamBuddha Entertainment and Media LLP, which is producing the seven-episode series, will launch it on ZEE5 soon after.

The Kashmir Files Unreported is a documentary that explores the historical, ethnical, and geopolitical details that led to the massacre and mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley in the 1990s. It does so through first-hand accounts, interviews with survivors, and archival footage. It then describes the circumstances surrounding the repeal of Article 370 and how that decision has affected the region of Kashmir today.

Trailer-viewers will recognise names like Dr. Meenakshi Jain, who will receive the Padma Shri award in 2020 for her work in the field of literature and education; Rakesh K. Kaul, author of the best-selling books The Last Queen of Kashmir and Dawn: The Warrior Princess of Kashmir; Shesh Paul Vaid, former Director General of Police of J&K; Manoj Raghu, a journalist who covered the conflict; and many others.

The Kashmir Files, a three-hour film that shocked the country, was merely the beginning. This series is more gut-wrenching, illuminating, and spine-chilling since it comes right from the horses' mouths and reveals the untold truths and facts behind the massacre and migration of the Kashmiri Pandits. Once considered a paradise on earth, Kashmir has been subjected to repeated attacks, radicalization, and systemic reduction to a warzone-like condition over the centuries. This book charts this journey and details Kashmir's significance to India, its people, and its culture.

Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 India, said in a statement that The Kashmir Files received a tremendous response from our audience due to the real and relatable stories of the Kashmiri Pandits it portrayed. Through interviews with academics, researchers, historians, and the people of Kashmir, the new series "The Kashmir Files Unreported" by Vivek Agnihotri delves deeply into the history, culture, and geo-political complexity of the region. ZEE5 is working with creators to add more gripping stories and captivating storytelling to its collection in response to the rising demand for stories based on true events that reveal the unspoken truths of society.

Nimisha Pandey, Chief Content Officer, Hindi Originals, ZEE5, stated that this is their second docu-series after Break Point. This is a novel way to share stories with an audience because it allows them to participate in the action. 'Kashmir Files: Unreported' gives viewers a chance to hear the harrowing accounts of Kashmiri Pandits directly from those who saw the catastrophe firsthand. They are crossing their fingers that The Kashmir Files effect happens here. They are thrilled to finally share Vivek and Pallavi's years of hard work with their audience.

Vivek Agnihotra shared that the genocide in Kashmir is a blot not only on India but on humanity. It's the modern world's greatest untold tragedy. Truthfulness in telling this narrative was crucial to them. Everything that has been shown or read about up to this point is current. The Kashmir Files, the result of four years of investigation, helped shed light on the situation there after 32 years. However, opinions on The Kashmir Files were divided. Some saw it as propaganda, while others said it only showed 10% of reality. In order to help people realise that the truth might be tough to deal with, they felt it was crucial to share all of the research and interviews they conducted in their most unfiltered and authentic forms. Vivek promises that 'The Kashmir Files Unreported' will break viewers' hearts, but it is meant to teach lessons from the past, help cultivate a zero-tolerance attitude towards terrorism, and inspire them to defend their own people and the rights of all people everywhere.

Pallavi Joshi, the film's producer, said that they spent four years researching before making 'The Kashmir Files.'" It was difficult for them to listen to the horror stories of the Kashmiri Pundit community because of the impact of their grief and pain on them and because they began to feel very insignificant when they realised that the government, administration, media, and others had kept people in the dark about this tragedy. The Kashmir Files, the film they made, ran for three hours, but it was just the beginning. And when some people in society began claiming the film was propaganda, they knew the unvarnished truth had to be shown to the public. Therefore, they present The Kashmir Files Unreported, which demonstrates the thoroughness of their investigation and allows one to hear firsthand the unfathomable anguish and terror endured by these commentators. Everyone in India should see the show to learn about the significance of Kashmir and how it has always been and always will be a part of India.
