Netizens have doubled down on their calls to boycott The Kapil Sharma Show after the allegation that the makers refused to promote The Kashmir Files on the comedian’s show. The new calls for a boycott came up a few days after the film’s director Vivek Agnihotri had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier, in response to a fan, Agnihotri had revealed that Sharma’s show had refused to have him on it as The Kashmir Files did not feature any ‘big stars’. After the director made the remarks, the hashtag #BoycottKapilSharmaShow began to trend on Twitter as fans tried to show support for Agnihotri’s film. The hashtag started to trend again recently after Agnihotri’s meeting with the PM.
The filmmaker and his wife Pallavi Joshi met with the PM on Saturday. Joshi has also starred in the film. Abhishek Agarwal, one of the producers of the film, took to his official Twitter handle to post photographs from the meeting. In his post, he also mentioned that the PM appreciated the film. Agnihotri shared the post as well.
