A source from the industry told the portal, “The Kerala Story 2 is filmed already in an extremely controlled and secured manner. Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah did not want any troubles to erupt during the shoot schedule."

About The Kerala Story
The Kerala Story (2023), which is available on ZEE5 (OTTplay Premium), is a controversial Hindi film that mixes real-life events with fictional drama, focusing on the alleged radicalisation and recruitment of young women by the Islamic State (ISIS). Upon release, the film sparked significant political controversy and mixed reviews.
The narrative follows the life of Shalini Unnikrishnan (later converted to Fatima Ba), a Hindu nursing student in Kerala. Her college roommates include Nimah, Geetanjali, and Asifa, the latter of whom is part of an extremist network that aims to convert and radicalise non-Muslim women. Asifa and her male associates, Abdul and Rameez, gradually educate Shalini and Geetanjali in extremist ideology, convincing them that Islam is the only true path.
Shalini becomes pregnant with Rameez and is pressured to convert to Islam, but Rameez abandons her. She was then married off to another man, Ishaq, and smuggled through Sri Lanka and Pakistan to Syria, where she was trained as a suicide bomber. The film's story is told in a flashback sequence as Shalini.
The central theme is the alleged allegations of systematic brainwashing, conversion and recruitment of non-Muslim women from Kerala into global terrorist networks like ISIS. It explores identity, religious conversion, coercion, radicalization, and the grief of the victims' families.
