The Kerala Story garnered a lot of attention at the box office on its very first day. Not only did it earn an excellent opening of 8.03 crores, but it also ranked among the top five Bollywood debuts of 2023.

Each of the four aforementioned films is a star-driven production and was intended to rank among the greatest of the best, as can be seen. The industry veterans include Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Ajay Devgn, while Ranbir Kapoor is the most popular actor among the younger generation.

The entire cinema business should be jubilant when Adah Sharma enters the scene and hits a large six with an opening day that stands tall among this list, as all of the other movies—aside from Pathaan—should have done even better given their credentials.

Here are the opening-day performances of the major Hindi films so far in 2023:

Pathaan – 57 crores

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan – 15.81 crores

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar – 15.73 crores

Bholaa – 11.20 crores

The Kerala Story – 8.03 crores

According to Bollywood Hungama, the three national chains PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis contributed Rs 4 crore. The theatre owners have added more showings of the movie due to the positive reception it has received from viewers, and during the weekend, it is anticipated that ticket sales will increase.

In the upcoming weeks, a few more films will be released, but none will top The Kerala Story in terms of revenue at the box office. This indicates that the movie will remain in the Top 5 until Adipurush debuts on June 16.

Meanwhile, The Kerala Story, starring Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani, was formally characterised earlier as the tale of more than 32,000 Kerala women who were supposedly radicalised by Islamic fundamentalists. However, once online protests against the false information the movie was disseminating started, the number was reduced from 32,000 to three.
