The Kerala Story, directed by Sudipto Sen, has become the talk of the town since its release. The film has been doing exceptionally well the ticket wondows becoming the second-biggest success of the year, exceeding the lifetime earnings of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, in less than two weeks.
The Kerala Story saw the opening day of Rs 8.03 cr, but that was still enough for it to easily surpass the Rs 150 cr threshold, according to the reports. According to preliminary estimates, the movie made Rs 9.80 crore on its second Tuesday, bringing its total to Rs 156.84 crore. Now on the 11th day, the film collected 7.90 cr at the box office. The total collection of the film now stands at 164.59 cr.
Even after facing the backlash and creating controversies all around, the film has been doing amaingly well at the box office. With the collection it has made, the film is a box office success.
The focus of The Kerala Story is Adah Sharma's portrayal of a Hindu woman from Kerala. She is sent to Syria, where she is coerced into joining the ISIS terrorist organisation after being brainwashed into accepting Islam. Apart from Adah, the film also stars Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani and Sonia Balani.
The movie is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and directed by Sudipto Sen. According to the film's claims, 32,000 women from Kerala were caught in this risky plan in real-life occurrences. Since the trailer's release, The Kerala Story has been under scrutiny.
