While the world was just on the road to recovery after being surrounded by the pandemic for a couple of years, HBO decided to give us a show about a dystopian future where a deadly outbreak has led to people turning into zombie monsters and humans are on the verge of extinction. Between this was a father who was coping with the loss of his family and a girl who was bait for the people who were using her as a lab rat. Yes, we are talking about The Last Of Us dropping on Disney+ Hotstar in India in January of 2023. The show took off and never saw the ground again because the viewership it managed to garner for its top-notch content and execution was monstrous, and soon it was greenlit for a second season.
The Last Of Us season 2 has been one of the most anticipated shows across the world because the way the makers managed to adapt a video game into a feature show has left us all awestruck as a new avenue was launched. Over the past many months, time and again we have seen glimpses and reports about what is happening behind the scenes on the project, but there has been no news on the release date or window. Turns out the makers have now shared the first look at the leading parts played by Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey with the release window. Read on to know everything you should about the same.
The Last Of Us 2 First Look
After the record-breaking first season of the show, the makers are now moving with the second season and The Last Of Us season 2 is much ahead in the production. The first looks of the leading pair Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey have hit the internet. While Pascal looks very close to the game version of Joel, Bella looks very young compared to how Ellie appears in the game. As per the reports she is now 20, a year older to what Ellie was in The Last Of Us Part II games. But Bella looks young for her age. This will be an interesting twist if the makers have added it intentionally.
Pedro Pascal shared the first looks on his Instagram handle as he wrote, “I swear. The Last Of Us 2 on HBO in 2025”. This means that season 2 of the most awaited show is not releasing this year and we aren't even sure yet if it is making it to HBO in the first two quarters of 2025 or the latter half. There are no updates on the specific window. The wait for the second season has turned out to be longer than we thought.

A live-action adaptation of the game, The Last Of Us tells the story of a man trying to protect a girl while the world around them is on the verge of destruction. Written and created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman, the show will have Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria continue their recurring parts. Meanwhile Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, and Danny Ramirez as Manny are the new additions to the cast.
