After Game of Thrones, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are teaming up for a series yet again. The actors will next be seen in The Last of Us, a dystopian drama from HBO. The series is all set to start streaming on a popular streamer in India soon.

What is The Last of Us about?

The Last of Us is set against the background of a dystopian future, 12 years after the collapse of civilization after a deadly infection targeted a majority of the population and rendered them into zombie like creatures. In the midst of the chaos, Joel, a seasoned survivor and smuggler is tasked with the responsibility of transporting a 14-year-old girl named Ellie across the United States. Joel must protect young Ellie, who seems to hold the key to developing a cure against the virus, as the duo traverse across a path riddled with danger.

The series is based on the 2013 video game of the same name, developed by Naughty Dog.

Who are the cast and crew behind The Last of Us?

Pedro Pascal stars as Joel, while Bella Ramsey essays the role of Ellie. The series also features Gabriel Luna starring as Joel's younger brother Tommy, Nico Parker portraying Joel's daughter Sarah, and Merle Dandridge starring as Marlene, the leader of a resistance group.

Craig Mazin, well known for his work on the critically acclaimed series Chernobyl, has created The Last of Us along with Neil Druckmann, who is the creative director of the 2013 video game. HBO, Sony Pictures, PlayStation Productions, Word Games and game developer Naughty Dog have produced the series.

When and where to watch The Last of Us?

The Last of Us premiered on HBO Max on January 15. Indian audiences can stream the series from January 16 onwards, only on Disney+ Hotstar.
