The Line OTT release date in India: When and where to watch Alex Wolff, Halle Bailey, and Angus Cloud’s thriller movie

Released in October 2024, this English thriller drama film made $37,774 at the box office worldwide. The Line is now set to make its debut in India soon on Lionsgate Play this February, after two years of its theatrical release. What's the plot of The Line?

In the world of his fraternity, Tom Backster (Alex Wolff) is a devoted and beloved member. He is drawn to the promise of prestige and the connections with successful alumni that came with being part of this exclusive group. However, his loyalty begins to tremble when Annabelle Bascom (Halle Bailey), a classmate from outside his fraternity circle, enters his life. As he begins to mix up with her more, Tom's uneasiness grows.

When his fraternity’s hazing takes a disturbing turn, Tom faces a challenging decision. He must choose between the allure of status and the bonds of brotherhood, or the values and principles that Annabelle has awakened inside him. This situation forces Tom to confront the true meaning of loyalty and the cost of his belonging.

Angus Cloud’s sudden demise before The Line’s release

Angus Cloud, one of the lead actors in the film–The Line, who had played Robert DeWitt, took his last breath on 31st July, 2023, at the age of just 25, just a year before the film’s release. According to the US reports, Cloud was found dead in his family's house in Oakland, California. The cause of death was an accidental multiple drug overdose, a lethal mix of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and benzodiazepines.

Back in 2023, when the film–The Line, made its World Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, director Ethan Berger and lead star Alex Wolff shared several memorable moments of the film, and their experiences while working, about its plot at the red carpet. While talking about The Line, the duo dug deep into fraternity traditions and how it creates a long-lasting impact in every aspect of the US system.

Ethan shared that when Alex signed the film and was ready for the shoot it was pre-Covid time. Hence, the whole cast and crew began shooting during the pandemic situation, while following all the restrictions. However, the film was released more than a year later. Ethan and Alex also talked about the reasons why young men continue to pledge, and what we think the systemic impact of fraternities has been on the US.
