Naga Shaurya, who had two releases in 2021 - the romantic entertainer Varudu Kaavalenu and the sports drama Lakshya - is back in action with another rom-com this year. Krishna Vrinda Vihari, helmed by Anish R Krishna, is his next release. The film is produced under Shaurya’s home banner Ira Creations by his mother Usha Mulpuri. Shirley Setia is making her Telugu debut with the project.

Krishna Vrinda Vihari was all set to hit theatres in May and the makers had even commenced promotions for the same, while also releasing the teaser and a couple of songs. However, the film was postponed out of the blues for mysterious reasons and various rumours were doing the rounds ever since, particularly about its thematic similarity with Nani’s Ante Sundaraniki.

After several months of suspense around the film’s release plans, the team confirmed its theatrical release today. Krishna Vrinda Vihari will be hitting the screens on September 23, with exactly a month left for promotions. The team announced the same with a vibrant poster, with Shaurya embracing Shirley Setia sideways and offering her a peck on her cheek.

It doesn’t need to be reiterated that Shaurya and Shirley make for a good on-screen pair while dressed in traditional attire in the latest poster. Radhika Sarathkumar, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Satya and Brahmaji also play supporting roles in the film. Shaurya’s father Shankar Prasad Mulpuri is the presenter. Mahati Swara Sagar, who also worked on Chalo, is the music director.

Sai Sriram has cranked the camera while Tammiraju is the editor. Ramkumar is the art director. Shirley Setia, earlier this year, made her Hindi debut with Nikamma alongside Abhimanyu Dassani in the remake of Nani’s Middle Class Abbayi. Anish R Krishna, the director, had helmed films like Ala Ela, Lover and Gaali Sampath in the past. Naga Shaurya, meanwhile, wrapped shooting for Phalana Abbayi Phalana Ammayi, directed by Srinivas Avasarala.
