The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - Prime Video announces seven new cast members for Season 2

Seven new recurring cast members have been added to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Prime Video for the upcoming second season, which is now in the UK's development.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has been bringing audiences together ever since its debut to experience the beauty and wonder of J.R.R. Tolkien's beautiful Middle-earth. With more than 100 million viewers worldwide, season one is currently the most popular original series on Prime Video. This genuinely global sensation attests to the unifying power of effective narrative.

Vernon Sanders, Head of Global Television at Amazon Studios, said in a statement that they welcome these fantastic actors to their fellowship and look forward to telling more amazing Second Age stories in season two.

Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen Atour, Ben Daniels, Amelia Kenworthy, Nia Towle, and Nicholas Woodeson are the cast members. For season two, the part of "Adar," the orc chieftain, has been recast and will be filled by Sam Hazeldine.

British-Nigerian actor Gabriel Akuwudike has starred in the beloved series Hanna (Prime Video). Ridley Road (BBC) and War of the Worlds (FX/Disney+) are two further TV credits. He has acted in movies like Sam Mendes' 1917 and Toby Haynes' Brexit for HBO.

Yasen Atour is well known for his "Coen" role in The Witcher's second season on Netflix. In the Netflix series Young Wallander, he played the part of Reza Al-Rahman and was a regular. He was the executive producer, star, and director of the movies Good Intentions and When the Screaming Starts.

Ben Daniels has been in several television shows with recurring parts, including Jupiter's Legacy (Netflix), The Crown (Netflix), The Exorcist (Hulu), House of Cards (Netflix), and Law & Order: UK (ITV) as "James Steel" and "Father Marcus Keane," respectively. The Exception, Captive State, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Benediction, and other movies are among her acting credits. Ben's work includes The Normal Heart (National Theatre; Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor; Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Best Actor); All My Sons (National Theatre; Olivier Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor); and Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Broadway; Tony and Drama Desk nominations for Best Actor). At the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Ben received his training.

Peaky Blinders (BBC), Slow Horses (Apple TV+), The Huntsman: Winter's War, Matrix: Resurrection, and Ridley Scott's The Last Duel are just a few of Sam Hazeldine's acting credits. He currently has roles in The Sandman and The Playlist on Netflix. He will next be seen in the Band of Brothers sequel Masters of the Air on AppleTV+, where he will co-star with Austin Butler and Callum Turner. He will also be seen in the Casanova drama film A Beautiful Imperfection, which also stars Jonah Hauer-King and Dar Zuzovsky.

Amelia Kenworthy is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. She acted in several plays while she was a student at RADA. She played Shila in Against, Julia in Two Gentlemen of Verona, Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Anna in Spring Awakening, and Ollie in Pomona. She has additionally acted in the short films Messenger and IRL. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will be her television debut.

The most recent movie featuring Nia Towle was Persuasion on Netflix. At the National Theatre and Duke of York Theatres, Nia made her theatrical debut with Neil Gaiman's The Ocean at the End of the Lane. Nia performed in prominent roles in plays like Yerma, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Medea while she was a student at the Guildhall School of Drama, where she graduated in 2021.

English actor Nicholas Woodeson has a long history of appearing on stage, screen, and television. His television credits include Rome (HBO/BBC), Baptiste (BBC), The Honourable Woman (BBC), Silent Witness (BBC), and Baptiste. Additionally, he appears in the movies Conspiracy, Skyfall, The Danish Girl, Paddington 2, The Hustle, and Paddington 2. Nicholas is a Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts alumnus.
