Review:
The Mandalorian begins with a new aspect – a new breed within The Empire. It is Captain Shuggoth vs The Mandalorians.
Chapter 22 – Guns For Hire – continues in the sky. Bo-Katan (Kate Sackhoff) comes to limelight with The Mandalorian Din Djarin (played by Pedro Pascal) and Baby Yoda aka Grogu. She’s the one who takes the lead since her face is revealed and she has more to portray through her performance in comparison to Din. Grogu, as always, sits back and looks adorable.
The trio enter Plazir-15 and meet Imperial Droids. There are also two surprises on the show and one of them is named Lizzo. She plays her brief part pretty well.
Like always, the visuals play a huge part on the show. Ever since the trio enters Plazir-15, everything is a visual spectacle.
The chemistry between Bo-Katan and Din really works. They are partners in crime and solving it too. She does well in terms of expressions while he is at par with her when it comes to the actions.
Count Dooku is mentioned once again. This is when Bo-Katan and Din figure out the real truth. When she mentions ‘politics,’ that is definitely one of the highest moments on the episode.
Bo-Katan reclaiming her place among The Mandalorians is quite the thing. She fights Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides) for the same.
The episode is all about the bond between Din and Bo-Katan. They often stand up for one another and he helps Bo be what she aimed to. That makes for quite a brilliant ending of the episode.
Verdict:
The Bryce Dallas Howard-directed episode is well executed. There is no moment where your eyes waver for even a second. Even though the whole episode is about Bo-Katan and Din, with a special appearance by Lizzo, it is not one where you want to just move on to the next episode. Thus, this one is a good watch.
