Prime Video released the official trailer for the fifth and final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. According to the official logline, Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) finds herself closer than ever to the success she's dreamed of in the final season, only to find out that closer than ever is yet so far away. Midge describes her career in stand-up comedy as two steps forward, three steps back, and she is weary of it.

Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, who are married and run the critically acclaimed show Maisel, spoke with The Hollywood Reporter after the season four finale, which gave fans of Midge and Lenny Bruce (Luke Kirby) what they had been waiting for.

Daniel told the international publication that they always had a basic idea of where the series would conclude, although it was probably around four, five, or six episodes. However, it merely appeared to work in season five.

While Amy added that when the clock read "five and out," they sat down and discussed what they should do to ensure that they stuck the landing because that was the most crucial factor.

She continued by saying that the goal now is to make sure that they put this cast through what they put them through, made them work as hard as they did, and that they get to come out of this feeling like they've made a good journey and that their characters have traveled and ended someplace of worth. They have invested so much time, energy, and resources in these people and their journeys.

The Palladinos claim that since the release of the season four finale in 2017, they have been aware of the series' closing shots and moments. The final season of Maisel will start on April 14 with three episodes, and fresh episodes will continue to run each week until the May 26 series finale.

Brosnahan, Alex Borstein, and Tony Shalhoub were all nominated for Emmys for their roles in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and the show won 20 Emmys, including one for best comedy series.

Marin Hinkle, Michael Zegen, Caroline Aaron, Reid Scott, Alfie Fuller, and Jason Ralph are also included in the cast. Milo Ventimiglia and Kelly Bishop, who used to be on Gilmore Girls, will also be back for the last season.
