At the D23 Expo, fans received their first official look at the upcoming Marvel Studios feature, The Marvels, which stars Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau.

When asked what one can anticipate from this movie, Parris told the audience that Monica had gained her talents and they were going to witness how things pop off in the Marvels. It was actually good to have a team, and Larson appeared content to put her character's lonely endeavours behind her. Her team was here!

Iman Vellani, a rookie, expressed his excitement at joining the film crew, saying that it's amazing and that she's having trouble breathing.

The first video, which was only shown to the room, was abrasively entertaining. Yes, Goose will be back because the movie picks up immediately after the Ms. Marvel post-credits scene. Captain Rambeau appeared briefly alongside Nick Fury as an astronaut aboard the Saber Space Station. She strikes the border of a leap point as her character approaches it, changing into surprise... Ms. Marvel. It turns out that whenever they use their abilities, they switch places, so Kamala Khan is now wearing the spacesuit. The cut shows Fury and Rambeau approaching Khan's residence. There are lots of action and fight scenes within her living room.

The Marvels is helmed by Nia DaCosta, who gained notoriety in 2021 by helming Candyman, a homage to the classic horror film from 1981. As the fourth woman and the first black woman to helm a film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she created Marvel history. In addition to reaching that milestone, she has surpassed Ryan Coogler to become the youngest director of an MCU film.

The Marvels is the follow-up to 2019's Captain Marvel and continues the stories of Monica Rambeau, who has gained superpowers from last year's WandaVision show, as well as Kamala Khan from this year's Ms. Marvel on Disney+. Captain Marvel is a huge inspiration to Kamala in her show, and she regards her as a role model and her idol. Brie Larson appeared in the post-credits scene of the season finale that aired last week. The teenage hero has been abruptly whisked away and been replaced by Captain Marvel, who wonders how she got into the teen's room as Kamala's enigmatic bangle starts to shine. She says, "Oh no," after noticing posters of herself in Kamala's room and searching the place in confusion.

According to Ms. Marvel co-director Adil El Arbi in an interview with Collider, DaCosta shot the post-credits scene in the series without the knowledge of him and his directorial partner Bilall Fallah.

On July 28, 2023, The Marvels make their theatrical debut.
