Why Priyanka Chopra might not be a part of Matrix 5?

Priyanka Chopra, who made her debut in the Matrix universe with the fourth film, titled The Matrix Resurrections, is unlikely to return to The Matrix 5. This is because her character graph mostly wrapped up neatly with the 2021 release. She played the role of adult Sati in the movie. Like most of the cast members, though, there’s no official confirmation on who will return, who will stay and who is away.

Drew Goddard, who is writing and directing The Matrix 5, confirmed the same to Screen Rant by sharing, “[It’s] still in the works. I’m in my writing cave writing. I don’t know how long I’ll be in that writing cave, but whenever I come out, I’ll have news to share.” Whether the OG cast will return remains to be seen. Interestingly, Keanu Reeves had previously stated that he is open to The Matrix 5, but only if Lana Wachowski invites him back to the franchise. Meanwhile, Carrie-Anne Moss is busy working on Yaga. Like the title suggests, the series is based on the myth of Baba Yaga.
