After the moderate success of Malang, Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor will be joining hands once again. This time, they will collaborate for the Indian remake of the English series The Night Manager.

The series will be remade as a movie with some changes to suit the Indian audience. The project is bankrolled by actress Preity Zinta and Banijay Asia. The movie will be made for Disney+Hotstar. The decision came after Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan reportedly backed out of the project after many months of indecisiveness.

The Night Manager narrated the story of Jonathan Pine, an ex-military man who works as the night manager and aids the FBI in taking down a drug-trafficking kingpin Ricky Onslow Roper. While the role of Jonathan Pine was played by Tom Hiddlestone, Onslow was played by English actor Hugh Laurie, of House MD fame. Originally a BBC series, the rights were bought by Amazon Prime Video. The series won three Golden Globes for Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor.

Aditya Roy Kapur will be playing the role of the night manager while Anil Kapoor will play the ruthless drug lord. The two collaborated before for the 2020 action thriller Malang in which Aditya Roy played Advait Thakur, a man hell-bent on vengeance against the police department while Anil Kapoor played Inspector Anjaney, the man who apprehends him. Although the movie received mixed reviews, it was commercially successful and both of them were praised for the screen time they shared, specifically in their interrogation scene.

Aditya Roy Kapur was last seen in Netflix movie Ludo in while Anil Kapoor was seen in the Netflix release AK vs AK.
