There is also much drama in the realm of DC Elseworlds that you are clearly not going to unhook yourself from. No, we are not talking about the behind-the-scenes drama, but the on-screen one, as the content is finally rolling and STREETS ARE TALKING AGAIN! The Penguin has entered the arena to take The Batman Epic Crime Saga forward after Part 1 and become the bridge between the two parts of the Robert Pattinson franchise. The show has now dropped the second episode right before the release of Joker: Folie à Deux, another Elseworld offering that is due tomorrow in India and on October 4 in the rest of the world. Like we said, Sofia Falcone, played by Cristin Milioti, will only keep getting wilder with each passing episode, and we are on the right track. The fear is that the actor might just overshadow Colin Farrell, even when he is at his best, because she is so good.

The Penguin is walking with one idea: that a "have-not" has entered the system to become a criminal and now wants to climb to the top seat. The legacy owners of that chair cannot allow a man who was hired for their service to rule them. Even on the wrong side of the system, there is a divide between the privileged and the have-nots. Oz Cobb is not for the system, and Sofia and her subordinates can't let him climb any higher. But that doesn't stop Oz from trying. So here he is, trying to overthrow every possible competition, even if it means killing some. Let's discuss the highlights of the second episode of The Penguin.

The Penguin Ep 2 Highlights

Oz Cooks a Plan with the Maronis

The introduction of Salvatore Maroni in Episode 1 was a clear indication that he and his family have a lot to do in the show. Oz Cobb was smart enough to put all the blame for Alberto Falcone’s death on the Maronis, and now the Falcones are clearly angry with them. Oz takes that anger a step further as he plans to snatch a Falcone drug consignment with the Maronis, and they even agree to it. But Johnny Vit changes the game when he tells Penguin to sit in the main car that is about to be attacked by the Maroni goons. But can the Penguin die so easily? Well, he saves himself and is now out there dodging one roadblock after another, even if it means killing the men that belong to the team that is helping him.

Sofia Falcone’s Cat and Mouse Chase Continues

Sofia Falcone is the most alert woman on this show, and there is no way you can fool her. Even when Oz Cobb has a bulletproof plan and is busy turning it into reality, while everyone believes his lies, Sofia smells his intentions and is the only person to doubt him. Eventually, even she gets manipulated, but it is difficult to get her on his side, and that shows how much of a strong woman she is. We see her in Arkham Asylum as the episode opens, and then we witness her scratching herself (such a fine detail). But now she wants to find the rat among them who is providing the Maronis with inside intel.

The No Man’s Land Mention

The comic nerds had another treat waiting in The Penguin Episode 2 yesterday when Rox mentioned No Man’s Land. When she comes to Oz’s home and has a conversation with Vic, she asks him where he is from. He says, "Crown Point." Rox responds: "My cousin lived there; she said it's like a no-man's land now or something. I mean, they lost everything." Now the nerds know what this means. The comics have emphasized this devastating period, and it is one of the most ambitious storylines. Batman: No Man's Land is about the part when Gotham was cut off from the rest of the country and was in shambles. This could also be a nod to the plot of The Batman: Part 2.

The Penguin premiered on September 20, 2024, with one of its eight episodes. New episodes will drop every Friday on JioCinema in India, available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, and Marathi. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
