The first teaser of The Prophet Omniscient Reader is out, and among many things, it boasts of an impressive starcast. The upcoming film stars Ahn Hyo-seop opposite Lee Min-ho. While these two have collaborated for the very first time, it doesn't stop there. Here's everything you want to know about the upcoming movie...
The Prophet Omniscient Reader consists of Lee Min-ho, Ahn Hyo-seop, Chae Soo-bin, Shin Seung-ho and Nana. Interestingly, the movie will also feature Blackpink's Jisoo, who is currently making headlines for her K-Drama Newtopia. The film would mark her big screen debut, and must we say, what a debut!
The recently released teaser of The Prophet Omniscient Reader features the moment where the two worlds merge. Dok-ja reads the first line from the webtoon. It is about the subway stopping in the middle of Dongho Bridge. Co-incidentally, he was taking the very subway and it stops at the very place, thus transporting Dok-ja into the manhwa. Soon after, he realizes that he is living inside the webtoon. He comes face-to-face with Joong-hyuk and not too long after, the protagonists join hands to save the world they are stuck in. The movie will be out in theatres in July this year. Interestingly, this will also be Soo-bin's offering right after people's favourite K-Drama so far, When The Phone Rings.
While there's not much certainty about how much the makers have kept the story intact, the webtoon of The Prophet Omniscient Reader follows the story of Kim Dok-ja (Hyo-seop) who finds himself stuck in the fantasy novel he is ready. While it might feel similar to the world of Lee Jung-suk's W: Two Worlds Apart, this is different. Here, there are two heroes - one originally in the manhwa and the other transported to it. Dok-ja knows the story is ill-fated, so he has been assigned to save the world. Lee Min-ho plays the role of the protagonist in the manhwa, Yoo Jung-hyuk. His character is assigned to function in the way designed, so all responsibility to bring about a change falls on Dok-ja alone.
