The Raja Saab box office collection day 3: Telugu star Prabhas ventured into the horror comedy space with his latest film, The Raja Saab, which opened to impressive numbers but has been struggling since. The much-awaited Telugu film, helmed by Maruthi, made only Rs 19.1 crore on its day 3 at the India box office, as per trade tracker Sacnilk. But Prabhas’ film has gone past Rs 160 crore in worldwide collections.

The 2026 Telugu film The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, released in theatres on January 9 as the big Sankranti release from Tollywood. As expected for a star-led vehicle, Prabhas’ horror comedy had an impressive opening of Rs 53.75 crore in domestic collections. But the film opened to mixed to negative reviews, that seem to have an impact on The Raja Saab box office collection as well. The film dropped to Rs 26 crore on day 2, recording a drop of more than 50 per cent. On day 3, it further dropped to Rs 19.1 crore. 

Though these are good enough numbers for a typical film, The Raja Saab was mounted on a massive scale, and the consistent drop in numbers would be a concern for the makers. The total worldwide box office collection of The Raja Saab after 3 days at the ticket window is Rs 161 crore, with Rs 31.80 crore 3 collected from overseas, as per Sacnilk.

The film made Rs 108 crore in India net collections. The bulk of the collections have come in from the Telugu market with Rs 91 crore, followed by Hindi with Rs 15.75 crore. However, the film failed to cash in on the absence of Jana Nayagan in Tamil box office and only Parasakthi to compete with, with an earning of Rs 0.85 crore. Karnataka and Malayalam have been contributing the least, with 0.23 crore and 0.17 crore.

What's The Raja Saab plot

Prabhas stars as Raju, who lives with his grandmother Gangadevi (played by the veteran actress Zarina Wahab), who suffers from Alzheimer's. As she awaits her husband, Raju sets out to find him only to realise that he has been dead for long, but the spirit lingers at a haunted palace. Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt plays the spirit in the film, which also features three female leads - Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan and Riddhi Kumar.
