The Raja Saab locks OTT platform: Where to stream the Prabhas horror comedy online

The Raja Saab is one of the most awaited films in Telugu cinema as it has Prabhas as the main lead. The horror comedy has been in the making for the last three years and is all set to hit the screens on January 9, 2025. One of the main reasons for the film's delay is the OTT deal, which the makers failed to lock for the longest time.

To crack the deal, the makers even released the theatrical trailer months in advance so that OTT platforms would come forward to buy the rights. Some of the big players like Amazon Prime and Netflix came forward to bag the rights, but the money demanded by the makers shocked them big time, and they backed out.

Now, we at OTTplay have come to know that JioHotstar has bagged the digital rights to the film for a good price. Though the makers did not get what they demanded, they have accepted a deal that has given them enough money.

The Raja Saab has been made on a budget of Rs 350 crore, and half of it has gone toward the remuneration of Prabhas. He is a huge star and all his films are released in multiple languages, and as they end up becoming hits, the makers make good money. That is the reason the makers demanded big bucks for the OTT rights.

But the OTT rights have now been locked, and once the film lands on JioHotstar, you can also stream it on OTTplay. Maruthi, who is known for making comedy films, has directed the film, which has been backed by Vishwa Prasad, who himself landed in financial trouble during the making of the film. But it looks like the film is back on track with the OTT deal and other rights being sold for record prices.

Malavika Mohanan makes her Telugu debut with this film, which has music by Thaman. Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar play the female leads, and the film also has Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani in key roles.
