The REAL reason Darsheel Safary chose Gujarati film Kutch Express over Bollywood for his comeback

Making his mark as a child actor with the much-celebrated film Taare Zameen Par in 2007, followed by a couple of more releases, now, an all-grown-up man Darsheel Safary is making his comeback to the big screen with the Gujarati film Kutch Express.

When asked why he chose a Gujarati film instead of a Bollywood project, Darsheel explained, "I always choose the story first. I feel that Kutch Express will bring about awareness and learning in today's audience in the form of entertainment. The cast and crew consist of some of the nicest people I know. Hence, I chose Kutch Express."

The film is directed by Viral Shah and produced by Parthiv Gohil and Manasi Parekh. It also features Ratna Pathak Shah and Manasi Parekh in pivotal roles. And the young actor says that working with two talented actors from whom he learned so much as a youngster was an exciting experience.

"I've had one of the warmest experiences while acting in Kutch Express. I've known Manasi ma'am for years and we've discussed working on something together for quite some time. Now, it has finally materialised," shared Darsheel, adding that is one reason why he views the project as one of wish fulfillment.

Darsheel adds that despite being Gujarati, he wasn't confident playing his part.

"It was Parthiv sir who convinced me to do this project. Despite being a Gujarati, I was not very confident of pulling it off. It was his conviction and belief that helped me do this," added the actor.

As a child actor, Darsheel appeared in films Bumm Bumm Bole and Midnight's Children. He recently did a short film titled Capital A Small A that is streaming on Amazon miniTV.

The Gujarati film Kutch Express is slated to release on January 6, 2023.
