The legacy Yash Chopra left behind in Bollywood is something that cinephiles and hopeless romantics still look up to even today. The late veteran filmmaker, who established one of the leading production houses in the industry today in the form of Yash Raj Films(YRF), is still continuing to influence fans of today with his legacy. The upcoming docu series, The Romantics, takes a deep dive into Yash Chopra’s cinematic world, and some of the most iconic films he graced audiences with, including Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge(DDLJ). Even some of the who’s who of Bollywood seemed to have been impacted by the film in quite a big way, and Ranbir Kapoor is one of them.
In a new promo for the upcoming documentary series, Ranbir is heard talking about just how much he was influenced by the film. The Brahmastra actor referred to the film as a ‘defining film’ of our generation and said that the feeling the film ignited within him is alive even today. “It Influenced the way I dressed. It influenced the way I spoke to a girl. It influenced how I was with my parents… everything!”, he said.
In the same promo, Ayushmann Khurrana too is heard speaking about his immense love for the film, while its stars Kajol and SRK also talked about the iconic movie.

Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Karan Johar, Aamir Khan,Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Rani Mukerji, Hrithik Roshan and Anushka Sharma, are some of the stars who make appearances in the series, which also contain glimpses of films like Chandni, Veer Zaara, Kabhi Kabhi, and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Smriti Mundhra has directed the series.
The Romantics will premiere on Netflix on February 14, 2023, Valentine’s Day.
