Not only that, but we will all be waiting with bated breath to see Aditya Chopra on camera. The ace filmmaker, who has been away from the media since he started making films, has finally decided to show himself to the world, and that too on Netflix.
Silsila, Lamhe, Kabhi Kabhie, Veer-Zaara, Dil To Pagal Hai, Chandni, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and others are among Yash Chopra's many beloved and romanticized famous romance films in Indian popular culture. The documentary series will include interviews with 35 important people from the Hindi film industry, including megastars who have worked closely with YRF over the years. The goal is to look at Bollywood's history through YRF's eyes and show how the company helped make Bollywood and its stars famous around the world.
Smriti Mundhra, who directed Indian Matchmaking and Never Have I Ever, two of Netflix's most popular series ever returns to direct The Romantics.
Monika Shergill, Vice President of Content at Netflix India, says that Yash Chopra, who is known as "The King of Romance," is credited with bringing a wave of emotion, individualism, and cultural change to Hindi cinema, which is one of the largest film industries in the world. To bring The Romantics to audiences around the world and honour its timeless music, stories, and nostalgia, they have teamed up with the creative heavyweights YRF and Smriti Mundra. Offering an intimate look at one of Bollywood's most powerful families, this compelling documentary series tells the true and definitive story of Yash Chopra and his son Aditya Chopra's journey to building a world-class studio.
The Romantics will premiere on Netflix on February 14, 2023.
