The Seven Dogs teaser: Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt step into a gritty, globe-trotting thriller

As Indian viewers receive their first look at Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt in a big foreign production, the unveiling of the first teaser for the highly anticipated Saudi Arabian action-comedy The Seven Dogs is a momentous occasion. The teaser is a fusion of thrilling action scenes and a world cinematic mood, brought to you by the renowned directing combo of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who have previously worked on Bad Boys for Life and Ms. Marvel.

Although the teaser doesn't reveal much about the plot or Salman and Sanjay's characters, it does give significant visual clues. Originally rumoured to be Salman Khan’s Hollywood debut, The Seven Dogs has now been confirmed as a Saudi Arabian production with a budget reportedly exceeding $40 million. The film also stars Ahmed Ezz and Karim Abdel Aziz, two famous Arab actors who worked together on the Egyptian hit Kira & El Gin.

Plot overview

The protagonist, Khalid Al-Azzazi, is an Interpol agent assigned the mission of apprehending Ghali Abu Dawood, a high-ranking official of a shadowy criminal organisation called the 7 Dogs. The criminal organisation reappears a year later, this time armed with a lethal new drug codenamed "Pink Lady" that poses a serious threat to Middle Eastern countries. To stop the drug's spread, Khalid will then have to join forces with an old enemy.

Notably, Riyadh's recently opened Big Time Al-Hosn Studios have not shot a significant feature film prior to The Seven Dogs. The studio's usage to recreate iconic locations like Shanghai and Mumbai highlights the film's global reach.

With its high production budget and star power, the film is expected to be a significant cooperation between Bollywood and Middle Eastern cinema, set for a theatrical release in late 2025.
