What's the plot of The Silent Hour

The story begins with the introduction of a Boston-based detective, named Frank Shaw, and his facing a life-altering situation–an accident that occurred on duty that leaves him profoundly deaf. His whole world shatters and his surrounding turns extremely quiet, making him mentally and physically disabled.

Fast forward sixteen months later, despite this significant change in his life, Frank Shaw, along with his trusted partner, find themselves in a desparate race against time. The duo has been charged with a mission to protect a young woman who hold a crucial secret. This woman, unexpectedly also happens to be deaf like Frank Shaw, and is the sole witness of a murder, and lives in an odd apartment.

Back in October 2024, actress Sandra Mae Frank, who played the deaf female witness role in the film, shared her insights working with Joel Kinnaman and Mark Strong with Screen Rant. Sandra stated that she enjoyed the theme that she could highlight the life of deaf people on screen through the film.
