The Society S2 Grand Premiere: Tehelka's wife Deepika Arya steals the spotlight on day 1 of Munawar Faruqui’s reality show

The Society is back with season 2, and it has dived right into the concept. Day 1 and the reality show is left with 16 contestants (Initially 15, with one joining in later). That is how The Society had its grand premiere on JioHotstar Sparks (OTTplay Premium). The Munawar Faruqui-hosted show, introduced with almost 20 contestants, is now down to 16 contestants. Much from the original season is retained, and the games kickstarted almost instantly. The Grand Premiere entertainment factors were non-existent. No grand introductions, no dancing to Bollywood songs - straight to action (a concept which The 50, also streaming on the same platforms, follows). This is a concept that is widely different from the popular reality show in India, Bigg Boss. For The Society season 2, there was one name that particularly grabbed attention at the grand premiere. While Tehelka became an entertainment factor on Salman Khan's Bigg Boss, his wife Deepika Arya stood out in The Society season 2, at least in the Grand Premiere episodes.

Tehelka's wife steals the spotlight

If Tehelka was entertainment on Bigg Boss, his wife Deepika Arya is kalesh on The Society season 2. Usually chilled out in all scenarios, she has become the target for being 'too sweet' at the Grand Premiere. This, despite her warnings to Tehelka, who is not even a part of the show. Although her graph for leaning to entertainment factor, it is likely to change to being vocal within the next few episodes - or that is what the upcoming episodes suggest. Naturally, catfights are upcoming, and Deepika is not one to back out. Currently in Rags, she is chasing Royalty, which puts her in a tough spot. Whether Deepika gets it is a question waiting to be answered.

The Society season 2 follows same pattern as season 1

The Society season 2 did not sway much from what the first two days in The Society season 1 looked like. The same rules apply, whether it be in the order of eating food or the difference in lifestyle for contestants in Rags, Regulars and Royals. The Royals, as the show has followed, enjoy the privileged status, while the Rags struggle and have to constantly fight for even a grain of food.

Marketplace coming up next

The marketplace, popular as Munawar Faruqui's The Society 'Baazaar,' opens up in the next episode. This is where Deepika's fight is upcoming. It is something that can change the game for better or worse, and worse than Rags would mean out of the show. Deepika is now fighting for survival, and appears to be the interesting factor on the show.
