Rajendra Prasad, who returned to solo lead roles after a sabbatical with aha’s Senapathi, is back with another emotional drama that rides on his shoulders. Anukoni Prayanam, with screenplay and direction by newcomer Venkatesh Pediredla, has him cast alongside Narasimha Raju, Prema, Tulasi, Ravi Babu and others to name a few. The film releases in theatres on October 28.

A new song from the film - The Soul of Anukoni Prayanam - was launched today. The song discusses the trauma of Rajendra Prasad waiting endlessly on a road and reminiscing about his friend, played by Narasimha Raju. He comes across various characters in this impromptu journey, during which he looks back at his past and the many fond memories with his friend.

Harini Ivaturi, best remembered for Ee Raathale in Radhe Shyam, has crooned for the sensitive, emotional number that showcases the depth of the story. Madhukiran Maddikunta, the lyricist, finds simple, effective words to capture the bond between the protagonists and Rajendra Prasad’s pain about not being with his friend. S Siva Dinavahi is the composer for Anukoni Prayanam.

Subhaleka Sudhakar, Narayanarao, Ananth, Prabhas Srinu, Rangasthalam Mahesh, Jogi Brothers, Dhanraj, Kancharapalem Kishore, Gemini Suresh and Thagubothu Ramesh form the supporting cast. The producer Jagan Mohan DY (of Apple Creations) is a doctor by profession and has penned the story of Anukoni Prayanam. Bekkem Venugopal is the presenter of the film.

Noted writer-duo Paruchuri Brothers have penned the dialogues for the drama. With cinematography by Mallikarjun Naragani and art direction by Suresh Bhimagani, Anukoni Prayanam is edited by Ram Tumu. Manikumar Patrudu is the executive producer of the same. Rajendra Prasad also plays a key role in Nandini Reddy’s family entertainer Anni Manchi Sakunamule.
