The Taj Story Box Office Collection Day 2: Paresh Rawal’s historical drama film has doubled its earnings on the second day. After a modest opening on October 31, the movie performed well on the second day and is expected to grow with a steady collection. Spiraling into controversies for its central plot on the Taj Mahal’s mysterious origin, The Taj Story grabbed eyeballs for several reasons. Despite the odds, the movie collected a decent amount. Here’s how much it earned on the second day...
Paresh Rawal’s controversial drama film The Taj Story performed well on its first weekend, as it collected Rs 1.9 crore on the second day of its theatrical premiere. According to Sacnilk, The Taj Story garnered Rs 0.9 crore on its opening day and doubled the collection as it added another Rs 1.9 crore on the second day, i.e., November 1. The total collection now stands at Rs 2.8 crore. It is expected to remain steady on the third day as well because the early trends show that it raked in Rs 1.12 crore on November 2 (early estimates).

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, The Taj Story covered an overall Hindi occupancy of 35.04% on November 1. It observed an occupancy of 14.75% for morning shows, followed by 30.89% in the afternoon and 36.91% in the evening. The night shows lodged the highest occupancy with 57.59%.
The Taj Story centers around a guide, who vows to fight for the hidden truth around Taj Mahal’s origin, whether it is a tomb or a temple. Touted to be a historical drama, The Taj Story revolves around the legal battle between a tourist guide and the marble monument. While some called it a propaganda film and demanded its ban, the High Court greenlit its premiere, citing that the issue should be best left for scholars and historians to debate.
Paresh Rawal headlines the ensemble cast as a guide who files a case against the Taj Mahal’s origin as a tomb. Anant Saraswat, Zakir Hussain, and Amruta Khanvilkar also appear in lead roles. The supporting cast features Shrikant Verma, Brijendra Kala, Karamveer Choudhary, Garima Agarwal, Shishir Sharma, Namit Das, Akhilendra Mishra, Abhijeet Lahiri, and Latika Verma.
Meanwhile, The Taj Story is also facing stiff competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s classic films like Om Shanti Om, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na, Jawan, and many others after they were re-released in the theaters on the special occasion of his birthday.
