Netflix has dropped the first look of an upcoming film, The Unforgivable (2021) featuring Sandra Bullock as an ex-con. It is going to be a drama thriller and the Netflix Original film will be released this Fall. The film is also slated for a theatrical release on November 24 and will stream on the platform from December 10.
The Unforgivable will also see Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, and Viola Davis. Sandra Bullock will play the role of Ruth Slater, who is recently released from prison after her long sentence for a heinous crime. She is judged very harshly by the members of her community once she makes it back to her hometown. As the title of the movie indicates, nobody is ready to forgive her wrongdoing even though it was committed a long while ago. Desperate for forgiveness, Ruth tries to find her estranged younger sister, whom she had left behind because of the scenario then.
The movie is helmed by Nora Fingscheidt and the screenplay is by Peter Craig, Hillary Seitz, and Courtenay Miles.
Bullock looks haggard as one would expect an ex-con to look like. She seemed staring at the mirror engrossed in some deep thought, probably wondering how her life is going to be especially considering the heavy burden on her back.
Bullock, who is also one of the producers of the film, told EW in a recent interview, “My character is someone who has been incarcerated for 20 years for a pretty heinous crime and gets out.”
