The Walking Dead dropped a trailer for its 11th and final season. The full-length trailer was released during a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday.
The trailer, which contained a lot of zombies and action, also gave glimpses of fan favourite characters like Darryl, Carol, Maggie, Ezekiel, Gabriel and Negan. It also gave fans a better look at the “Reapers”, the group the heroes would be going against.
In the trailer, Gabriel is heard saying, “If we live, we live for them. If we die, we die for them.”, which describes itself as “The beginning of the end”. This could be the case for the characters in the final season from what is seen from the trailer, as they lock horns with the Reapers.
According to Variety, the final season of the show was originally meant to be aired in 2020 but was held back because of production getting delayed due to the pandemic. Season 11 of the long-running show will consist of 24 episodes, which will be split into three parts, each consisting of eight episodes.
The hit zombie series, based on Robert Kirkman’s comics will start streaming on August 15 on AMC+. Part two and part three of the show will air in 2022, with the exact dates yet to be decided.
The cast for the 11th season includes Norman Reedus as Daryl, Melissa McBride as Carol, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan, Christian Serratos as Rosita, Lauren Cohan as Maggie, Khary Peyton as Ezekiel and Seth Gilliam as Gabriel.
