The king of horror television, Ryan Murphy, is back with another thrilling series. Titled The Watcher, the mini series promises to be a treat for true crime fans.
What is The Watcher about?
Inspired by true events, The Watcher follows the story of a couple who move into a house with their three children. Their dreams of making the home a safe space for their family are dashed when they start to receive threatening letters from a stalker who calls themselves the Watcher. The Watcher claims that they have been watching the house for a long time, and eerily thanks the family for bringing the house the ‘young blood’ it requires.
The film is inspired by the true story of the Broaddus family, who started receiving threatening letters after buying their new home in 2014. The stalker included several details of the family in the letters, and sent a total of 3. In the third and last letter, they spoke of how they knew that the family had abandoned their plans of moving into the house. The Boraduses put the house back on the market after a period of five years, and it was purchased by someone else. The case is yet to be solved. The series is inspired by the article The Haunting of a Dream House written by Reeves Wiedeman.

The mini series stars Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale as a couple who become terrorised by a staker’s letter, after moving into their new home. The series also features Jennifer Coolidge, Mia Farrow, Margo Martindale, Richard Kind, Noma Dumezweni and Terry Kinney.
