After being available for rent on Prime Video and ZEE5 (OTTplay Premium), The Wild Robot has made its full-fledged OTT release in India. The animated sci-fi film has begun streaming on JioHotstar starting today. DreamWorks Animation produced the 2024 film under Universal Pictures. The Wild Robot sees Roz (Nyong'o), a service robot shipwrecked on a desolate island who must adjust to her circumstances, form relationships with the local fauna, and adopt Brightbill (Connor), an orphaned goose. Following the journey of a robot—Rozzum unit 7134, "Roz"—that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the hostile surroundings, the epic adventure progressively builds relationships with the animals on the island and becomes the adopted parent of an orphaned gosling.

Grossing $329 million globally on a $78 million production budget, The Wild Robot was both a critical and financial triumph, ranking sixth among animated films of 2024. DreamWorks' fourth film to sweep all its categories earned nine Annie Awards, among other honors. It was also nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards, the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, and the 78th British Academy Film Award.
In the film, Lupita Nyong'o as ROZZUM unit 7134 ("Roz"), an abandoned robot from the tech company Universal Dynamics, washes up onto an Oregon woodland and learns to fit into the new surroundings. Her manufacturer's name and product line, ROZZUM, allude to Rossum's Universal Robots, the drama that invented the word "robot." The broken robot ROZZUM unit 6262 ("Rummage") washed onto the same island as Roz, who provided her transponder for return home.
The first animal Roz befriended is Pedro Pascal's cunning yet well-meaning red fox, Fink. On the other hand, Kit Connor as Brightbill, an orphaned, run-down Canada goose fostered by Roz as her own son after losing his natural family.
Meanwhile, regarding a possible sequel, Sanders said that he would really much like to. Everyone at the studio was deeply invested in their work, so he expressed his desire to remain here for a while. He confirmed later that a sequel is under work.
