During The WitcherCon, a lot of exciting upcoming projects were announced set in the world of The Witcher. One of them was the upcoming animated film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Now, Netflix has released the full trailer of the film on their YouTube.
The Witcher spinoff will trace Geralt of Rivia’s mentor Vesemir’s journey as a Witcher, who escaped a hard life of poverty by slaying monsters for coin. Audiences will see Vesemir on a dangerous adventure while he confronts the demons from his past as a greater threat looms over a politically fraught kingdom.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf voice cast includes Theo James (of Divergent fame) as Vesemir, Graham McTavish as Deglan, Lara Pulver as Tetra and Mary McDonnell as Lady Zerbst. Kim Bodnia of Killing Eve’s fame will essay Vesemir in the live action series, The Witcher in the upcoming season.
The bathtub scene from The Witcher, featuring a semi-naked Henry Cavill as Geralt had created much furore. The trailer of the upcoming film reveals that the mentor is just like his mentee from this screen grab from the trailer.
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, The Witcher’s showrunner is the executive producer on this project along with Beau de Mayo as producer. Han Kwang II has directed the film with the Korean animation studio, Studio Mir developing the animation for the film.
The movie is slated to release on August 23 on Netflix.
