Netflix has released the first official teaser and new title for it’s upcoming limited series, whose full name is The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window. Previously named just The Woman In the House, the trailer suggests an intriguing tale of heartbreak, substance abuse, and maybe even murder.
The trailer introduces viewers to Anna, a disturbed woman who is seen drowning her sorrows with the help of alcohol. Her mundane, predictable life involves the same despondent routine- her sitting in her house looking out the window imagining a better life. But one day her usual reverie is interrupted when she witnesses a grisly murder in her neighbour’s house. But when she calls the police to investigate, it leads to a shocking turn of events- they accuse Anna of lying and lodging a false complaint.
Throughout the rest of the teaser viewers get to see the extent of Anna’s struggles- she not only is an alcoholic but is also addicted to pills, despite being warned how dangerous that combination is for her health. Among others, one of the side effects is experiencing hallucinations. As Anna’s disturbing thoughts and increasingly erratic behaviour intensifies, it begs the question of whether what she saw actually happened or whether she had hallucinated it all.
