There’s an anticipation every time brothers Indrajith Sukumaran and Prithviraj Sukumaran come together, and it only heightens when Murali Gopy is also involved. After Tiyaan and Lucifer, the duo will next be seen together in Kammarasambhavam director Rathish Ambat’s next titled Theerpu and the makers are set to release the first look from the movie soon.

The movie, which went on floors in 2020 and had completed shooting with its lead actors before the second lockdown in 2021, also has Saiju Kurup, Vijay Babu, Hannah Reji Koshy, Isha Talwar and Lukman Avaran as part of the cast.

Prithviraj took to his social media page on Saturday to reveal that the first look of the movie, which was earlier rumoured to be a direct-to-OTT release, will be out on July 24 at 10 am. Apart from Vijay Babu, the film also has Rathish Ambat and Murali Gopy as its co-producers.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Indrajith had revealed that he plays a cop in the movie. “It will deal with a genre that hasn’t been tested in Malayalam and it’s more on the lines of dark humour. The characters and setting too are different from any of Murali’s previous scripts,” said the actor, who had also said that he doesn’t have too many combination sequences with younger brother Prithviraj in the movie.

Meanwhile, Rathish had previously told us that the film has a rooted story and is an intriguing drama about friendships. “The format of the movie is also different and it’s more like a story within a story,” he said.

After Theerpur, Rathish and Indrajith had also collaborated earlier this year for the segment Kadalkaattu in Netflix’s upcoming anthology based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s short stories. The segment also has Ann Augustine and Aparna Balamurali, who was adjudged the Best Actress at the 68th National Film Awards, as part of its cast.
