Theertharoopa Thandeyavarige, the first Kannada film to release in theatres in 2026, has now made its way to OTT. The film, directed by Ramenahalli Jagannatha, best known for the coming-of-age drama Hondisi Bareyiri, had been picked up by Amazon Prime Video for its streaming rights and was expected a week ago, but dropped on the platform only on February 27, 2026. The film, meanwhile, follows a travel vlogger Prithvi Sanchari (newcomer Nihar Mukesh), who has a tumultuous relationship with his mother Janaki (Sithara), as he is convinced that she is to blame for his father walking out on them years ago. When he eventually figures out the circumstance behind his father’s disappearance and how Janaki had only been shielding him from it for his own benefit, Prithvi not only begins to mend his relationship with his mother, but also goes in search of the man who left them behind. What Janaki and Prithvi find out in this journey is what Theertharoopa Thandeyavarige is all about.
