Rupanjana Mitra has been working on television for more than two decades and is a household name. Currently, people now know her as the kind mother-in-law on television as the popularity of Labanya Sengupta of Anurager Chhowa is at its peak. Rupanjana, starting her journey with the serial Chokher Bali in 2000, spent 23 years in the industry. She has seen many ups and downs in her journey and now realises that the industry has changed a lot.

Nowadays, many complaints are there regarding the industry. But Rupanjana thinks that the change is in the positive direction. She said, “There is a positive change in our film fraternity. People have become kinder than before.” Rupanjana joined the BJP in 2019. Rudranil Ghosh also joined on the same day. After the 2021 election, Tnushree, Kanchana, and others left the party. There is confusion regarding whether Srabanti, Yash, and Parno Mittrah are still in the BJP. What about Rupanjana? After joining the BJP, Rudranil complained that he was not getting any work from the industry. Rupanjana, on the other hand, claimed just the opposite.

Rupanjana was involved in a direct clash with the Artists’ Forum a few months back. She said in an interview, “Artists’ Forum does not work for the sake of the artists.” The Forum retaliated by saying that they would take legal measures if Rupanjana did not apologise. However, Rupanjana apologised and the two sides reconciled. Rupanjana Mitra had her marriage engagement in February. Her fiance Ratul Mukherjee also belongs to the industry. Mother of an eight-year-old son Riyan, Rupanjana is all set to have her wedding at the end of this year.
