THESE are the names of Dhanush's characters in Selvaraghavan's Naane Varuvean

​The much-awaited psychological action thriller Naane Varuvean, directed by Selvaraghavan is all set to hit screens tomorrow. The first day first shows will begin at 8am across the country. There is a lot of excitement riding on the film as Dhanush will be seen in a dual role. While we know that the actor plays the antagonist and the protagonist in the film, Dhanush revealed the character's names in his latest social media post. The characters are Prabhu and Kathir. While Prabhu is seen as the regular guy, the character of Kathir is said to be with shades of grey. Taking to his social media handle, Dhanush wrote, "Prabhu and Kadhir .. Naane varuven FROM TOM in theatres near you (sic)." The buzz is that the film will see both the lookalikes having a deja vu effect. The plot is kept under wraps by the team.

Naane Varuvean is expected to be one of the highlights of Dhanush's career. In the meantime, the film's producer Kalaippuli Thanu, has revealed that Naane Varuvean is not competing with any other film. It is to be noted that one of the biggest releases of the year, Mani Ratnam's magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan will be hitting screens on September 30 worldwide. When quizzed about the same, the producer had told a regional channel that he doesn't consider it as competition and that he only wanted to cash in on the Navaratri holidays. He also added that the film's release was planned three months ago.

Naane Varuvean has Bollywood actress Elli AvrRam making her debut in Tamil. Indhuja Ravichandran will be playing a pivotal role as well. Selvaraghavan, who had displayed his acting chops in films like Nelson Dilipkumar's Beast and Arun Matheswaran's Saani Kaayidham, will be seen in a crucial role in the film. This will be the first time that he will acting in his own direction.
