Jyothika’s recent Hindi supernatural horror film Shaitaan, which also stars Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, is now available for streaming. While you can catch the film on Netflix, it is to be noted that Jyothika is no new name in south film industry. The actor, who has donned different roles in the past, has a solid body of work in Tamil cinema. On that note, here are some of Jyothika-starrers that you must watch if you haven't already.
Chandramukhi is a psychological horror drama starring Rajinikanth, Jyothika, Prabhu, Nayanthara, Vadivelu and others. The film is a remake of Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu. In the film, Jyothika plays a newly-wedded wife who is assumed to be possessed by the spirit of a late dancer seeking revenge. Jyothika’s performance as a possessed woman gained a lot of appreciation. Her dance number, Raa Raa, from the film, was one of the plus points of Chandramukhi.

Poovellam Kettuppar is a romantic musical comedy directed by Vasanth. The film featured Suriya and Jyothika, along with Nassar, Vadivelu, Vijayakumar and others. It revolves around two musicians who separate path after their fallout. However, unknown to this, their children fall in love with each other and has to now convince the other family into accepting their relationship.
Directed by Radha Mohan, Mozhi is about a deaf and mute girl Archana who falls in love with a musician. The film beautifully captures their romance, and how a man whose life revolves around music and a woman who cannot hear any sound, connect over their empathy and shared kindness. Jyothika won universal appreciation for her role as Archana. The film also stars Prithiviraj, Prakash Raj, MS Bhaskar and others.
Magalir Mattum is a comedy drama film directed by Bramma and stars Jyothika, Urvashi, Bhanupriya, Saranya Ponvannan, Nassar, Livingston, Gokulnath, and G Marimuthu among others. The film revolves around three school friends who decide to reunite after 38 years, while ignoring the issues put on them by their respective households and husbands.
Kushi is directed by SJ Suryah and stars Vijay, Jyothika in the lead roles. It is about two head-strong individuals who fall in love with each other but get distanced due to their egoistic nature. The romance drama explores the complicated love-hate relationship they share and if they will unite amid all their problems.
