In only a month after its theatrical release, Telugu star and politico Pawan Kalyan’s latest, They Call Him OG has made its way to OTT. The Sujeeth directorial, dropped on Netflix as of October 23 and if the response is anything to go by, Pawan Kalyan fans are having a jolly good time rewatching the film. The star’s undeniable swag, which Sujeeth has played up and how in the film is what audiences are talking about the most, besides, of course, music man Thaman’s killer score. As far as the story and narrative pattern go, they are not as impressed, but what’s been most interesting is that no one seems to have anything to say about Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi’s Telugu film debut as the big baddie.
Pawan Kalyan's swag's the biggest highlight of OG
From comments about the best title card ever for a star, to the definition of swag being the police station scene in the film, fans are going gaga over Pawan Kalyan. Much like the theatrical release, composer Thaman was yet again a fan favourite, with praise galore for his background score. Even die-hard fans, though, were not entirely onboard with Sujeeth’s narrative, and felt that the film would have benefitted from crisper editing. It also seemed that all that audiences could see was Pawan, as no one else from the cast got a mention.

The film, meanwhile, has Pawan Kalyan as a samurai/gangster, who gives up a life of crime for domestic bliss, until a container that lands at his mentor’s port sets off a chain of events that force him to take up the very weapons he’d let go off more than a decade ago. They Call Him OG ended with a lead in for a potential sequel.
