If you are in the age group between 15 and 20 years, want to act and could pass off as a teenaged version of Kannada actor Darling Krishna, then your ticket to fame may have just arrived. Filmmaker Shashank, who is set to collaborate with Krishna yet again after their earlier Kousalya Supraja Rama, has announced a casting call for the same.

The age requirement and newbie criteria apart, the filmmaker expects, photographs and a short video introduction to be sent on Whatsapp to a particular number, latest by August 20. The as-yet-untitled film will be released in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Produced by Manjunath Kandkur, it will have music by Arjun Janya.

The film, according to Shashank, is a thriller, that he says will appeal to all sections of audiences and does not stick to a particular sub-genre, like crime, horror, etc. The filmmaker, who has dabbled with action and thriller elements in films like Bachchan, Thayige Thakka Maga and Love 360, returns to try his luck with the genre, and is looking at going on floors in late August, with a summer of 2025 release plan.

Shashank’s last, Kousalya Supraja Rama, was his take on male chauvinism and the effect that kind of behaviour has on women. The filmmaker had admitted that he’d written it based on some of his earlier personal experiences and of people in his immediate circles and wanted to shine light on the issue. The film paired Krishna with Brinda Acharya and Milana Nagaraj, with Rangayana Raghu and Sudha Belawadi in pivotal roles.

Krishna is currently shooting for Father, an R Chandru production, in which Prakash Raj plays his father. The actor was earlier said to be a committed to a historical film called Halagali, for which he’d begun a physical transformation as well. However, the team required the actor to dedicate 3 years to the project and not take up any other film in the meantime, which was not acceptable to him. It is rumoured that the role has been offered to Dhananjaya, but the date requirement is likely to be a problem with him too.
