Raksha Bandhan: This Akshay Kumar film collected Rs 21 crore at the domestic box office in the first three days of its release. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the story of Raksha Bandhan is about Lala Kedarnath (Kumar) and his relationship with his four sisters. It also focuses on his efforts to get his sisters married and tackles issues such as dowry and body shaming. The film features Bhumi Pednekar as Kumar's on-screen love interest, while Sadia Khateeb, Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna and Smrithi Srikanth play the role of his sisters. Raksha Bandhan was presented and distributed by Zee Studios in association with Kumar's sister, Alka Hiranandani and Rai. It was backed by Rai's Colour Yellow Production in association with Kumar's Cape of Good Films.

Viruman: The Muthaiya directorial triggered huge interest for a couple of reasons. Aditi Shankar, the daughter of ace director Shankar, made her debut as an actress in the film industry in which she plays the female lead. The director's previous film with Karthi, Komban, was a roaring hit and that led to fans having huge expectations from this one. The film had a mixed response at the box office. Viruman has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and is produced by 2D Entertainment.

Macherla Niyojakavargam: Directed by MS Raja Shekhar Reddy, who has earlier served as an editor on films like Businessman, Iddarammayilatho, Temper, and multiple Nithiin-projects such as Lie, Chal Mohan Ranga (2018) and Maestro. Macherla Niyojakavargam marked his directorial debut. Also, starring Krithi Shetty, Catherina Tresa, Samuthirakani, Vennela Kishore and Rajendra Prasad, this one has music by Mahathi Swara Sagar.

Karthikeya 2: This latest Telugu fantasy adventure had a successful opening in Telugu and became a hit in South India. In the past few days, this crowd-pleasing entertainer has become a sensation in the Hindi markets, too. Karthikeya 2 is visually rich and effectively highlights Indian culture. The Hindi version is performing great, despite having a competition with biggies like Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film has Nikhil Siddharth reprising his role, while Anupama Parameswaran is the female lead.

Gaalipata 2: This one is about three friends who go to a college to learn Kannada. Years later, when a professor's mental health is in jeopardy, the trio returns to take him on a trip that could potentially solve his problem. Aside from friendship, Gaalipata 2 depicts a teacher's relationship with his students.

Ravi Bopanna: V Ravichandran's latest film raised a lot of expectations, particularly among his fans. Ravi Bopanna, the official remake of the 2018 Malayalam film Joseph, is a crime and investigation thriller that weaves together the complexities of relationships and emotions. The plot, which takes place mostly in the second half, is about a retired and intelligent cop who is still wanted by the police department. Circumstances force Ravi Bopanna to look into his ex-death, wife's and whether she was murdered or died in an accident. The plot of this crime thriller revolves around how he solves the case and uncovers the truth.

Thallumaala: This Tovino Thomas-Kalyani Priyadarshan film is directed by Khalid Rahman. Also, featuring Shine Tom Chacko, Johny Antony, Binu Pappu and Lukman in key roles, Thallumaala is Khalid Rahman's directorial follow-up to the mystery thriller Love, released last year. A fun-filled realistic drama, the music for the film is by Vishnu Vijay.

Nna Thaan Case Kodu: The Kunchacko Boban-starrer garnered Rs 25 crore at the box office. Directed by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, the satire courtroom drama is bankrolled by Santhosh T Kuruvilla. The film features Vikram-fame Gayathrie Shankar as the female lead, while Minnal Murali actor Rajesh Madhavan plays a significant supporting character. Nna Thaan Case Kodu has the actor playing a thief named Kozhummal Rajeevan, aka Ambaas Rajeevan, who becomes embroiled in a court case after a dog bites him.
