The very moment someone utters the name of ‘Bhumi Pednekar’, what comes to the mind is an image of a go-getter, who can walk upto any miles to justify the role that she is playing in the film. Be it her in the role of a fat woman who gets marries to a comparatively slimmer husband or the ‘fight-for-your right’ type of lady in ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ or even, for that matter, ‘unconventional’ films like ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’, ‘Badhaai Do’... the list is almost endless. The feisty actress is now all set to challenge the normal once again. This time with yet another challenging role of her career in the Sudhir Mishra directed ‘Afwaah’.

In an interview to E Times, when asked about how she dealt with rumors, Bhumi Pednekar (in her trademark confidence) said that even though she mostly ignored them, but, if she felt that it was going to affect a loved one of hers like her mother or sister or even her work, that’s the time when would deal with it in different ways. She added that, so far, she has been lucky that she hadn't had any rumors which could have an adverse effect on her. She also added that, that also explained the reason why only very little about her personal life has come out, despite her being in the industry for seven long years. And when asked about her biggest fear, Bhumi replied that, one of her biggest fears in life was that she would stagnate and would become too comfortable with what she had.

A couple of months ago, when her debut film ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ clocked 8 years, Bhumi Pednekar took to social media and shared a deleted scene from her debut film. She had captioned the post stating, ‘Here is a deleted scene from my first love.
Firsts are always special. Can't believe it has been 8 years already! I was so fortunate to have started my career as an actor with a film that broke the stereotype of how heroines were presented in Indian cinema. I was proud to be the new @yrf heroine - real, authentic, proud, righteous, self-reliant, body-positive and a girl who was so so beautiful. Body-shaming is a big social evil. Let’s celebrate every human being’s right to individuality. #8YearsOfDumLagaKeHaisha’.

As for ‘Afwaah’, besides Bhumi Pednekar, the film also stars Sumeet Vyas, TJ Bhanu and Sharib Hashmi playing prominent roles. The film ‘Afwaah has been produced by Anubhav Sinha under his banner ‘Benaras Mediaworks’. The film will be released in the theatres on May 5.
