Tovino Thomas' Malayalam film 2018 is all set to release in Hindi. And producer Anand Pandit has opened up about why he decided to present the film in the Hindi language.

The story of the film is based on a real-life account that took place during the devastating 2018 Kerela floods.

The film is directed by Jude Anthany Joseph and also stars Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Lal, and Narain.

In the 13 days of its release, 2018 earned over Rs 135 crore and became the highest-grossing film in the history of Malayalam cinema. It also has an IMDb rating of 8.9/10.

Speaking about the film, Anand said, "It is a story about human resilience that powerfully depicts how important it is to get together and help each other out in a crisis. I am presenting the film in Hindi because I don't want cinephiles across India to miss out on a chance to watch a film as exceptional as this."

Anand has produced films like Total Dhamaal, Doctor G, Thank God, and Drishyam 2. He also produced and distributed the pan-Indian film Kabzaa, which was released last month.

The story of 2018 digs deep into the lives of individuals from different backgrounds who rally around each other and join hands to survive a devastating calamity together.

The film portrays the collaborative efforts of these brave hearts as they navigate through the floods and display relentless hope in the face of adversity.

The film releases in Hindi on May 26.
