We had earlier reported that actor Vikram's much-anticipated film Thangalaan is gearing up for release in August. With the film due to release on August 15 for the Independence Day weekend, the makers are preparing to release the trailer of Thangalaan very soon. The trailer is said to officially state the release date of the film. Read on to know more about the trailer and film.
Thangalaan trailer to release soon
As per the social media buzz, it is believed that the trailer of Thangalaan has been censored. The trailer will run for two minutes and 12 seconds and will also be accompanied by the release date.
Thangalaan is directed by filmmaker Pa Ranjith and scores of fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the film. Fans could not keep calm after the release date of Thangalaan was not revealed for long, despite the film nearing completion. Now, with the trailer to be out soon, it is expected that the fans will be all the more geared up for the movie’s release.
As per producer Dhananjayan of Studio Green, Thangalaan is expected to release on August 15 to capitalise the Independence Day weekend. The film is said to be a period drama, set against the backdrop of Kolar Gold Fields.

Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical rights to the movie. It will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, after Thangalaan finishes its theatrical run. Tamil Praba has co-written the film, which was shot by cinematographer Kishor Kumar. Selva RK has worked on the editing of Thangalaan.
