The Hindi trailer of Nayanthara's upcoming film, Connect, was released recently and it looks like it has won the hearts of many. Janhvi Kapoor, who watched the trailer, was all praise for the same and wrote to the film's producer Vignesh Shivan, "Can't wait for this!!! @wikkiofficial looks too good (sic)." Vignesh wrote back, "Thank you  Jhanvi :) means a lot :) glad you like it."

The film, which is bankrolled by Vignesh Shivan's Rowdy Pictures, is directed by Ashwin Saravanan. Connect stars Nayanthara, Sathyaraj, Anupam Kher, and Vinay Rai as part of the star cast. The film marks Anupam Kher's comeback in Tamil after a long hiatus. The team held a special screening for Anupam Kher's students at Actor Prepares. Sharing a video and picture from the special show, Vignesh wrote on his social media handle, "Had an excellent time with a special screening for @AnupamPKher sir’s Acting school @actorprepares The way everyone enjoyed the movie and the great comments from them made me feel confident & proud of the film #Connect @Ashwin_saravana #Nayanthara #sathyaraj (sic)."

The first single from the film, sung by Unnikrishnan and his daughter Uthara was released recently. Music for the film is by Prithvi Chandrasekar and the single, 'Naana Varaigira Vaanam' has lyrics by Kadhirmozhi Sudha. Real Satish and Richard Kevin have handled action choreography and editing. The film is said to have a runtime of 99 minutes and is all set to hit screens on December 22. Going by the trailer, the plot revolves around a four-member family, who are shocked to find that the little girl in their house has been possessed by an evil spirit. An exorcist is called in but the pandemic-induced lockdown exacerbates the situation.

Ashwin Saravanan and Nayanthara had earlier teamed up for yet another horror thriller Maya, which was well received by the audience.
